Sharing our last summer fling party on the first day of fall seems somehow really appropriate since it is still hotter than H E double hockey stick here!
~Dear Mother Nature: please send us sweater weather soon, please and thank you. Cheers, xo, Kim~
Everyones schedule is always so crazy busy. If I had a dollar for as many times as I have heard and said “lets get together soon!”, well, Target would have a lot more dollars. #keepinitreal
Honestly though, we are all busy, It can be difficult to make the time to host a party but its important to slow your roll and create fun get-together’s.
Since we decided to stay home over the Labor Day weekend, I thought, why not throw a last minute party?!
Pineapple Hippie and their fantastic party accessories really set the mood for the theme. Well, that, and being obsessed with creating (ok, trying) to create a cascading balloon party centerpiece.
I have been in love with the invites from Paperless Post…So, I found a fun invite with a pink drink and yellow background…perfect.
Then on my recent trip to Atlanta, I stopped in to Swoozies and found some great party gear. So…| party decor…checkFood. I wanted to keep it chill.
•Donuts would be perfect for a “faux” cake
•Egg casserole is an easy, filling brunch dish
•Fruit salad was a must. You know, it balances out the donut(s) you eat
•Hummus and veggies
and to throw in an old school classic…
•Curry Chicken Salad with crackers (my most fave)
Most importantly, the cocktail. Rose Sangria sounded oh so perfect and The Barefoot Contessa did not disappoint.
(Hint: French Rose is typically a bit more dry and works perfectly for this…trust me)
I was inspired by Willow and Sage recipes for body scrubs and found cute containers at my local Dollar Store and the rest of the ingredients and essential oils from Sprouts.| craft…check
All that was left was to nibble, cheers, craft, love and laugh!
